Sometimes the best ideas result from collaboration.  These 3 banners were made for the Diocese of Tucson for the Consecration of the Chrism Oils during Holy Week.  The cathedral had previously used 2 banners for this liturgy, and these were stationary.  I suggested they use three banners, one for each of the oils.  Each banner could accompany the bottle of oil in procession, and be placed on a stand during the liturgy.

     The Dove banner (design by Josephine Niemann, SSND) accompanies the Holy Chrism, used by the bishop in Confirmation.  The Olive Branch is paired with the Oil of the Sick, and the Wind & Water (also designed by Josephine Niemann, SSND) goes with the Oil of Catechumens, used in the Baptismal liturgy.
