Pamela T Hardiman combines the practices of piecing, quilting, and painting on fabric with a great love for liturgy and celebrations of all kinds.

Recognizing a natural affinity between celebratory art and liturgy, she believes that attentiveness to the worship environment can help us live and pray more deeply.

Formal training as in psychology and mathematics has enabled her to develop strong research skills, and the ability to analyze and organize patterns of all kinds.  Interestingly, these skills are useful to the liturgical fiber artist as well. Developing concepts for pieces that will enhance liturgy, rather than distract from it, requires the ability to analyze liturgical structure and interior spaces.

In her "other life," Pam has always studied art and worked with her hands. For 16 years, she was part-owner of a quilt shop and traveled the country buying and selling fabric and studying with well-known art quilters, providing knowledge of where and how fabric is produced around the world. Now she combines those fabrics in ingenious and artful ways with stunning results.

Currently in the middle of her second 19th annotation retreat doing the Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola, Pam has received certification as a prayer companion for people doing the exercises. She directed a religious education program for children for several years, moving it from a loosely-structured home-based program to a more formal, supervised classroom-based program, with much greater and varied opportunities for group interactions.

Pam lives with her husband and three sons in Farmington, CT, where she kayaks and camps in spring and summer, attends high school and Mud Hogs football games in the fall, and in between everything else, tackles ambitious home improvement projects, including designing and remodeling several kitchens.
